# Assigning Categories

You may need to select a _Category_ (`category__v`) when working with  <a href="/en/gr/57395/">_Text Assets_</a> or <a href="/en/gr/812951/#categories">_Communication Objectives_</a>.  

The table below lists the standard _Categories_ and their messaging purposes. While some _Categories_ are more applicable in Pharma or MedTech contexts, the picklist values listed below are available to all customers.

| Adherence | Related to how practical it is for a patient to continue use of the drug, and the side effects of discontinuing use |
| Affordability | Related to the cost of using the drug or device |
| Clinical | About the clinical outcome for the patient when the device is used |
| Clinical Landscape | Related to the availability of treatments and support services, like treatment centers and consultants |
| Clinical Practice Guidelines | Describing how HCPs should prescribe the drug or use the device |
| Comparative | Directly compares features or outcomes of one device to another device |
| Compatibility | About a device's ability to work with other products |
| Diagnosis | Related to the identification of the disease and the implication for patient outcomes |
| Disease Area | About the state of the disease or any other information relating to the disease, such as disease prognosis and pathophysiology |
| Dosing and Administration | Related to guidelines and recommendations on drug dosage, frequency, and administration method, or how to use the device |
| Economic | Related to economic benefits, such as how the device reduces cost of care |
| Efficacy | Related to the efficacy of the drug or device in achieving intended therapeutic outcomes |
| Efficiency | Related to speed, resource optimization, or ease of use when using the drug or device |
| Health Economics | Related to efficiency, effectiveness, and behavior associated with the production and consumption of healthcare |
| Limitation | Related to the limitations of the drug or device |
| Mode of Action | Related to how the drug works at the molecular or cellular level |
| Patient Resources | Related to resources and information aimed at helping patients understand their medication or device, including proper use and side effects |
| Quality | About reliability, durability, manufacturing, and quality control of the device |
| Quality of Life | Related to how the drug or device impacts the patient's quality of life |
| Safety | Related to the risk a patient is exposed to through treatment |
| Sustainability | Related to the environmental friendliness of the device |
| Technical | About the technical specifications or performance of a device |
| Tolerability | Related to how the drug or device company assessed a patient's ability to accommodate treatment |
| Unmet Need | About treatment gaps in the clinical landscape related to the drug or device |
